After an hour and 30 minutes with my doctor it's official, I do in fact have Asperger's albeit a moderate form.

I feel good and have a lot of things to process now. She wants to discuss all of this further the next time I see her since today was mostly diagnostics.

I see my therapist today (Monday) to see if I have Asperger's or what. I've done all the research, thinking, discussion with those closest to me etc that I can.

After looking at everything it seems to me that I do have a moderate form of Asperger's but despite all of that I don't know everything so it will be interesting to find out.

Like I said before if I do have it then I'd feel such a huge relief. If I don't then I'll probably leave depressed knowing I still have so many questions unanswered.

Either way, wish me luck.

I just did the AQ test and scored 39. I think you could get a high score with this test for quite a few different reasons - certain personality disorders spring to mind.

I hope you get some definitive answers from your therapist!

I find it so interesting how I can have 150+ journal readers, many of them active on VR, and yet still go days without a single read even though I've made posts.

This confuses me!

Could be just as simple as they've got other things on their minds or aren't in the mood to read journals.

I go through periods where, while I may be very active on VR, but I do not go through journals.

It seems it's periodic, suddenly I started to receive comments, when in May and April I hardly had any.

I go through that all the time I put stuff in my journal and either no ones reads it or they just don't comment so I have got to the point of when I have something I want to put in it I do and If not I don't touch it.Its just how VR is hon Sorry.

More on the Autism front.

I took the PDD assessment which was developed by a specialized hospital in New York. "Normal" people will score under 50, the highest score is 220. I scored a 142 which the test called "moderate autism".

Again, I'm doing my best to answer these things as honestly as possible and given such a high score and the score of the other test it seems as though there may well be some reality to this.

I also talked with my mom today for an hour and while she isn't 100% sure she did say a number of things made sense to her.

On top of that my best friend said that if you look at my life through the glasses of Autism that she can "connect the dots" on a lot of areas. Plus my friend with fairly severe Aspergers told me that he always thought I was "special" in regards to Autism.

I'll be talking with my therapist in about a week.

Should it be high functioning autism it would also make sense as to why its taken so long to even find it an option. If I do have it I would feel totally liberated because it would answer so many questions and make sense of so much.

I know for most Autism can be an incredibly difficult condition to deal with but Autism is called Autism Spectrum for a reason and when you've lived a life as the "eccentric" and hearing people describe you as cold when you've never thought ill of them it can be very comforting to find an explanation that says you aren't a cold or rude person, that you're not just "socially awkward" etc.

Kevin scored a 16 on the first test and a 45 on the second, so he's normal. He also thinks it makes sense that I could have it. Another friend got a 12 on the test I had the 142 lol.

My nephew is high functioning and while there are lots of challenges (he's just 7) everyday is a new start for a great future. The spectrum is large and some folks just don't fit into one segment or another but have parts of a few. But at least knowing one way or another gives you some answers. I hope it works out for you well.

I've studied Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) for a couple of years now and I have found, quite a few people who have the condition, can manage very well to go through life without ever being diagnosed. Would it change your life in any way if you had an ASD?

It seems as though I may have some degree of a disorder along the Autism Spectrum.

Took a published test and got a 29, 80% of the people who scored 32 or higher had been officially diagnosed.

Going to chat about this further with my therapist.
